Columbia Gorge Community College seeks an Instructional Dean who brings innovation, vision, and data-informed, equity-minded, student-centered leadership to our Nursing and Health Occupations training, certificate, degree programs—and high school college credit courses—including Nursing, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assisting, and Emergency Medical Services. The Dean also serves as Nurse Administrator, per Oregon State Board of Nursing standards.

Responsibilities:
Providing department leadership that promotes program growth by implementing effective and best-practice strategies to increase enrollment and maximize student learning, retention, and completion, such as those about delivery modalities, instructional practice, assessment, and equity and belonging.
Contributing to and leading the development and implementation of institutional initiatives that aim to improve student success and advance the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the college, such as Guided Pathways.
Cultivating strong relationships with business and industry partners, school districts, community organizations, and workforce development agencies, to develop new programs and align learning outcomes with workforce needs and students’ end goals.
Supporting and encouraging the collection and analysis of data to inform decision-making, including course, program, and institutional learning outcomes data, student success, retention, and completion data, regional economic development data, student survey data of courses and faculty, and state and national comparator data.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution with documentation of preparation and/or experience in curriculum and teaching in a nursing program.
Five years of nursing experience, of which three years shall have been in a nurse educator or administrative position in a nursing education program.
Current unencumbered Oregon R.N. License and Washington R.N. License, or eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-Master’s preparation in Education or doctoral degree in Nursing or Education.
Recent clinical experience.
Ability to meet Oregon State requirements for clinical instructors in an Oregon facility.
Experience in Associate Degree Nursing Program.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Approval by the OSBN to be the nurse administrator of the Nursing Program is requisite to holding this position. If the applicant is selected, an application will be made to the OSBN. Approval by the OSBN must be received before a definitive offer of the position to the applicant will be confirmed.

Compensation: $79,695-$91,227, plus excellent benefits including generous employer contributions to medical, dental, and vision premiums, and participation in the Oregon PERS retirement system.
