This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more Pay Schedule NG59 The Nurse Manager of the Mental Health (7A) unit is a designated first-line supervisory authority, responsibility, and accountability for clinic nursing team operations, ensuring that subordinate personnel provide timely nursing care which complies with generally accepted standards of clinical practice. This includes the authority to accept, amend, or reject the work of subordinates. Has continuing responsibility for all of the following functions: Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of subordinates; evaluating the performance of subordinates Making recommendations for appointments, advancements, or reassignments of subordinates Giving advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinate personnel on work and administrative matters Hearing and resolving complaints of subordinates, and referring more serious complaints not resolved to higher level supervisors Recommending and/or tracking disciplinary action where appropriate Identifying developmental and training needs of subordinates and providing or making provisions for such development and training Makes daily rounds of clinic area to ensure compliance with Long Term Care Institute, OSHA, and ADA and corrects deficiencies immediately Demonstrates ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary groups to identify, analyze, and resolve problems to improve patient care. Additionally responsible for performance improvement, customer service/patient satisfaction, patient and employee safety, interviewing applicants, employee relations, standards of care and practice, the work environment, and accreditation and regulatory standards Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned Preferred Experience: A Masters degree in leadership is preferred Three to five years of recent Mental Health experience is preferred Previous experience as a Nurse Manager or one to two years as an Assistant Nurse Manager Previous experience with rehabilitation, dementia care, and hospice/palliative care is preferred..
