The Network electronic health record modernization (EHRM) Nurse Clinical Consultant is a registered professional nurse, qualified by education, experience and specialized expertise to lead, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate clinical and administrative processes for the delivery of safe patient care across the Network as it pertains to the implementation of the EHRM and consistent with the mission, vision and strategic priorities of the Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 20. The Network EHRM Nurse Clinical Consultant executes leadership that supports and promotes a Network framework focused on delivering high quality, safe and reliable care centered on the Veteran and is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for continuous improvement of integrated programs that cross medical centers and service lines and influence the Network's mission and delivery of health care. The incumbent is responsible for providing clinical and administrative recommendations relative to the implementation of the EHRM and is a key leader in the Network's approach to assess and improve the quality of healthcare services. He/she utilizes the nursing process and a wide range of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques in providing consultation to leadership of all VISN 20 facilities and provides support to program leaders, medical center committees and quality improvement teams. The incumbent demonstrates a high degree of leadership, motivation, self-direction and and has specialized knowledge of VHA clinical processes. This position encompasses areas such as: Developing, managing and facilitating the EHRM Network Nurse Clinical Consultant, providing oversight and guidance of EHRM activities including collaborating with facility nursing leadership to assure smooth implementation of the EHRM. Provides leadership and acts as Network liaison for VISN programs related to EHRM implementation. Acts as liaison and promotes integration of Network programs including System Redesign, Credentialing and Privileging, Environment of Care Safety and Engineering, and Veteran satisfaction to further the goals providing high quality health care and Just Culture. Work Schedule: Selection of 8 hour shifts Monday - Friday, 0730-1600 will be negotiated between supervisor and incumbent Telework: May be negotiated between supervisor and incumbent based on the needs of the organization and the performance of the incumbent Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
