This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The Chief Nurse Anesthetist IV performs those duties outlined in paragraphs 2 and 3 below. In addition, they may also perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to prepare the anesthesia plan, delivery of all forms of anesthesia, and providing intra and post-operative care of patients. They may also provide emergency airway and resuscitation management throughout the facility and establishing effective working relationships with all levels of staff throughout VA Boston. According to VHA Nurse Anesthetist Qualification Standard (VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G7) a Chief Nurse Anesthetist must meet all the requirements for appointment as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the Veterans Health Administration. Specific Assignment: In addition, the Chief Nurse Anesthetist, as first level supervisor, assumes collaborative responsibility with the Chief Anesthesiologist and major administrative responsibility for other Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) at VA BHS.
