The Deputy Nurse Educator is a registered professional nurse who provides formal/informal/virtual instruction for clinical staff (particularly nursing), support/administrative staff, and the community. The incumbent collaborates with multiple disciplines in the assessment, planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of staff development, school affiliations, learning and quality improvement, and application of clinical related software to clinical practice. The Deputy Nurse Educator is responsible for planning and implementing selected programs, training projects, and activities related to continuing education, staff development, clinical orientation, learning and quality improvement, while fostering staff participation and involvement in educational programs. He/she collaborates and works effectively with all medical center employees, and provides leadership in improving patient care, monitoring standards of care, directing and teaching personnel in a variety of settings, coordinating school affiliations, promoting computer-based instruction, and instructing the application of information systems related to the electronic medical record. The incumbent collaborates with health care providers and caregivers to fulfill education activity coordination and goals and demonstrates positive communication skills and behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with internal and external customers. The Deputy Nurse Educator's work is performed in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, office, classroom, and conference settings. The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Director of Education. The Deputy Nurse Educator will supervise Registered Nurses within the Education Department which includes the Simulation Coordinator, Nurse Educator and others as designated by the supervisor. The Deputy partners across service lines to provide education as requested and appropriate. The Deputy collaborates with the TTP Coordinator to operationalize and maintain the RNTTP Residency Program and functions as a back up to this position when needed. Participates in facility level committees and root cause analysis evaluation as directed by supervisor. The incumbent plans, organizes, and utilizes resources and facilities available to accomplish the mission and goals of the education department. Analyzes resources available and identifies risk areas which include budgetary, staffing, supplies, equipment, and/or availability of data/information, including utilization of information technology. He/she uses learning metrics and analytics to measure the impact of learning solutions in relationship to improved patient care and/or organizational processes and assists in evaluating impact or improvement across the organization. Structures curriculum, program, or learning solutions to meet identified learning needs and evaluates outcomes at the appropriate level in the organization. The Deputy Nurse Educator will be held accountable to the full scope of their licensure. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm.
