The Group Practice Manager (GPM) is located in the Associate Director for Patient Services/Chief Nurse, Boise VA Medical Center, Boise, ID; directly reporting to the executive office. Nursing practice oversight is the responsibility of the Chief of Staff and Chief Nurse Executive. The GPM executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex outpatient care systems. The Group Practice Manager (GPM) is responsible for supporting the Veterans Access to Care Act (VACA) by assuming a leadership role in development, standardization, implementation and sustainment of key operational processes to ensure efficient and effective management of outpatient clinics and exceptional Veteran experience. The GPM will work with the tetrad to establish strategic goals as it relates to the quadruple aim-quality, cost, satisfaction and value ensuring efficient use of space and resources. Assess, plan, and implement patient care processes at a system-wide level. Collaborate with clinical services to include Primary Care, Mental Health, and Specialty Care on service specific goals around access, quality care, and the patient experience. Ensure policies and practices promote clinic efficiencies to improve the patient's experience. Promote practices in support of high functioning teams in the ambulatory care clinics. Facilitate facility wide or service specific projects to ensure access and clinic optimization. Reports to the tetrad at regularly scheduled meetings. Chairs the Clinic Practice Management Committee (CPMC) and chair/co-chair the Consult Management Committee (CMC) In support of facility wide goals and initiatives. The CPMC and CMC will report to the facility Quality Executive Board (QEB) and Clinical Executive Board (CEB) at regular intervals. Participates on the Primary Care Leadership and PACT Committees. Leads the Clinic Optimization Team looking at cost, productivity, and value of clinics. The GPM will keep the COS and other tetrad members apprised of progress towards strategic and service goals, as well as, barriers to overcome. Works within the framework of the philosophy of the Boise VA Healthcare System and Nursing Services. Collaborates with clinical and ancillary staff, to participate and lead programs to enhance the delivery of timely, high quality patient care. Establish both long and short-term plans, policies, and procedures assuring that programs are integrated to provide timely, high quality patient care and an exceptional patient experience. Coordinate systems of care across the Boise VA healthcare system, the VISN, and national healthcare system through participation in regional and national Group Practice Manager Program initiatives and in compliance with VACO expectations. Ensure optimum utilization of resources and clinic efficiencies to deliver high quality, cost effective care. The registered nurse, as a licensed professional, will be responsible and accountable for his/her practice.
