This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The Inpatient Nurse Manager is a professional nurse who holds twenty-four hour accountability for the management of a defined area of organized nursing services or resident care unit within the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System. The incumbent is a first level-nursing manager who functions under the direction and guidance of the Chief Nurse and Nurse Executive/ Associate Director Patient Care Services in providing clinical and administrative leadership. The Nurse Manager is directly accountable to the Chief Nurse. He/she is accountable for writing and adhering to established policies, standards of care, and standards of practice. He/she uses the nursing process to achieve identified goals for VA Northern Indiana Health Care System. As a nursing leader, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of Nursing Practice and Nursing Operations within their defined areas of responsibility. He/she facilitates an interdisciplinary approach to high quality, cost effective and customer focused health care. The Nurse Manager directly supervises all nursing personnel in their defined area of responsibility and may supervise administrative staff in some settings. Work Schedule: Typically administrative.
