Provides leadership and clinical assistance that promotes care consistent with infection control standards, policies and procedures in place at VA Northport. Responsible and accountable for planning, directing and coordinating infection control activities throughout the organization. participates in committees as indicated and makes recommendations regarding standards, policies, procedures equipment and educational needs. Interacts with employees and disciplines to assure adherence to appropriate infection control practices. The Nurse Manager provides support to the assigned areas by supporting the VA's mission and performance improvement initiatives. The Nurse Manager executes delegated responsibilities, demonstrating leadership and creativity, for the purpose of providing quality patient care and exceptional customer service. Northport VAMC embraces patient and family centered care principles, with care of the Veteran the priority. The Nurse Manager meets the needs of both the internal and external customers while supporting the mission of Northport VAMC by consistently communicating and treating customers (Veterans, their representatives, visitors and alt VA staff) in a courteous, tactful and respectful manner. Demonstrates infection control practices for disease prevention, i.e., hand washing, standard precautions, and isolation procedures, including TB requirement/precautions. Demonstrates adherence to infection control standards including the safe use and operation of equipment. Work Schedule: Days, Monday - Friday. Exact work schedule will be discussed at time of interview. Pay Schedule: The salary range listed in this announcement is a Base-Line Salary ($80,603.00-$137,090.00) range estimate for a full-time work schedule. Starting salary will be set based on locality (which may include a special pay rate depending upon location) and boarding. Financial Disclosure Report: Not Required Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave shall accrue for full-time Nurses at the rate of 8 hours for each full biweekly pay period. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory and you can practice anywhere in VHA.
