Our Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Program has an international reputation for treating and healing children who suffer from cancer or blood disorders, including leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, sickle cell anemia, blood and clotting disorders and thalassemia. The expertise of our medical team, with physicians trained at Yale, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Duke, sets us apart, as does our multidisciplinary approach that offers patients the best possible care at all levels. We work closely with our pediatric bone-marrow transplant physicians to offer complete care for patients who suffer from disease recurrence that requires stem cell or bone marrow transplantation. Our program affiliation with the Children’s Oncology Group means our local families no longer have to travel long distances to receive care that uses the most sophisticated research protocols to treat their child’s cancer. With recently renovated inpatient facilities, we offer comfort, safety, and state-of-the-art monitoring. Our 12 bed pediatric Hematology and Oncology unit affords a new family lounge and laundry facility — located on the inpatient unit — offers parents a place to get respite and congregate while their child is being cared for by our experienced specialty trained nurses.
