We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our team onsite at an industrial client’s administrative headquarters located in Houston, TX. This position will support the overall business by providing occupational health nursing services, program coordination, non-occupational disability and workers compensation case management and health improvement engagement to assigned locations and employee populations.
What you will be doing:
Providing occupational health services/surveillance, case management, proactive prevention, and health improvement to employees.
Evaluating and treating primarily work-related injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within scope of practice and consistent with clinical guidelines.
Understanding worker’s comp and OSHA requirements and risks, and applying that understanding in clinical practice and oversight.
Conducting various work-related exams and manage return to work evaluations.
Assisting with case management of disability and work comp via coordination of medical treatment with outside providers, including serving as a liaison between employees, HR, managers and healthcare providers.
Assisting with establishing and updating protocols, formularies, emergency plans, and quality assurance programs for the clinic in collaboration with medical director/ collaborating physician and client team.
What you need for this position:
Graduate of an accredited college or school of nursing, hold current R.N. license from the State of Texas, and maintain active R.N. license by completing all state mandated continuing education requirements.
Occupational Health Nurse strongly preferred.
Previous experience of a minimum of three to five years of actual work experience in anoccupational health setting as well as areas that include emergency nursing, counseling, teaching, and office procedures is desirable.
American Heart Association or equivalent certification in Basic Lifesaving Skills including AED, CPR, and First Aid certification from Red Cross or equivalent is required.
Case Management and/or equivalent case management experience required.
Disability programs and workers’ compensation experience preferred.
Must demonstrate excellent management and communication skills (verbal and written, and electronic).
Must be able to work independently and on teams.
Must be able to lead teams and programs.
Must be self-motivated and able to manage and prioritize multiple project cases concurrently.
Must demonstrate excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
Certification in audiometry, pulmonary function testing and laboratory procedures is desirable, as is experience with computers and data entry, (MS Office: Word, Excel).
Able to take control of an emergency situation
